We harness the strength of over 40,000 students and staff. Students who provide hope for the future. Staff who contribute every day to Linköping University tackling contemporary challenges. Our values are based on credibility, trust, and security. By being courageous, thinking freely, and innovating, we collectively create a better future through both large and small actions. Welcome to apply for a job with us!
Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include research in the field of theoretical modeling of disordered magnetic materials. This includes method development, large-scale computer calculations, and simulations of complex systems where magnetism connects to atomic structure and atomic vibrations.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will primarily conduct research. Teaching may also be included in the duties, but not exceeding one-fifth of the working time.
Your Qualifications
To be eligible for the postdoctoral position, you must have a PhD or an equivalent foreign degree assessed to be equivalent to a doctorate. Your degree must be obtained no later than at the time the employment decision is made.
It is advantageous if your degree was obtained no more than three years before the application deadline for this position. If there are special reasons, those who obtained their doctorate earlier may also be considered, for example, due to various types of statutory leave.
We are looking for someone with a PhD in theoretical physics with a focus on magnetism and disordered magnetic materials.
We also believe you have experience in method development for simulating systems where disordered magnetism interacts with atomic vibrations and other types of structural disorder. Demonstrated experience in studies of magnetic order-disorder transitions and simulations with coupled spin-lattice dynamics is advantageous. A good ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required. Good communication skills in Swedish are a merit.
You are a researcher with a strong ability to work independently as well as collaborate in joint research projects within the group and with experimental research groups.
Your Workplace
You will work in the Department of Theoretical Physics in the Unit for Theory of Disordered Materials.
About the Employment
The position is a fixed-term employment for two years with the possibility of extension for a total employment period of no more than three years. The postdoctoral position is full-time.
Start date by agreement.
